POST 6: A SUBJECT I ENJOY STUDYING

 During my first year in psychology, I have liked more than one subject, I think they all have a very interesting side to study. However, in the first semester we had a subject that, so far, is my favorite: social history of Chile.

In Historia Social de Chile they taught us about the history of our country, but from the social perspective that does not appear in all history books and sometimes is not even taught in schools and universities. We were taught history with a look at the vulnerable population of the time, such as the poor, peasants and women. The objective of the course was to get to know and understand our history, in order to understand the psychology of our country. 

I really liked the course because of the subject matter and the perspective with which we worked on the social history of our country, but also because of the way the classes and evaluations were conducted. In addition, the teacher throughout the course was very friendly, always willing to help and explained everything very well, which undoubtedly also made the course more enjoyable. In the classes, the teacher explained the subject and we talked about the texts, which were very interesting.

 Since I was very young I have had a great love for fruits, especially those that appear in the summer season, such as blueberries, grapes, cherries and strawberries.  However, strawberries have always been my favorite fruit. I like them because they are sweet and very delicious, and in summer they are very refreshing. If it were up to me, I would eat them all year round. POST 2: WHY DID I CHOOSE MY MAJOR?

  I think when we are little we all think of multiple professions that we would like to be when we grow up. In the same way, I had several desires in this regard, from being a teacher, to the idea of being in the military (which is completely far from my current desires and ideals).  From an early age, around 13 years old, the idea of studying psychology was already in me. First it started as a desire to help people, I liked to listen and give advice to my friends, to help them in that way. However, as I grew older this idea changed. My desire to study psychology was still there, but an interest in human behavior had joined me. I was interested in the why of people's actions.  Psychology was always my first and only choice. For a while my family insisted that I study law, because they thought I would be good at it, but my interest and passion for psychology was always greater. POST 3: MY FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY

  During these pandemic times, my computer has become my best companion and my favorite electronic gadget.  I use my computer all day long - at least Monday through Friday - to study, attend classes, communicate with my classmates, and take tests and assignments. A few years ago, my computer was a simple accessory, with no great meaning to me. However, since last year, my computer has become indispensable for me and my studies, due to the online modality.  Besides being an excellent complement to my studies, I use my computer to relax listening to music, watching series/movies or doing yoga with videos on Youtube. Computers are an excellent work/study tool. I recommend them for people who need a device on which to store information and be able to access it easily.  On the other hand, it's a great way to stay connected, to what's happening in the world and, in times of pandemic, to the people we love.
